Workplaces

With its hilly terrain, most Atintis villagers are employed in agriculture.

Villagers grow crops such as wheat, barley, maize and sugar beet, or vegetables.

Other activities include animal husbandry, beekeeping, viticulture or other commercial projects.

It has become fashionable for young Romanians without much future to emigrate – a phenomenon that is very common in Atintis, especially among Roma, for whom a lack of qualifications, and a lack of work is more attractive than spending several months of the year working in agriculture.
